Tom Travis....If you've ever heard Bob Kingsley on American Country Countdown, it's not me! I've been playing radio since 1983 and it's always been country music I've played. I've worked in Little Rock, Fayetteville and Ft. Smith Arkansas, Oklahoma City and a rumored short career in Jamaica (I don't remember much about it). I'm a married father of 5 ranging from 23 years to 6 months (3 girls and 2 boy). I Love God, Country and Country Music! You'll find me parked in front of anything sports and / or the Military Channel.
(Yahoo!) - Jennifer Nettles apparently has been enjoying an unusually productive maternity leave. The Sugarland singer, who has been (seemingly) laying low since the birth of her son in December, has announced she'll be releasing a solo album with a target date of Fall 2013.
But wait, there's more--Nettles will be working with famed producer Rick Rubin for the new project. Rubin has helmed releases by a score of storied artists, including Johnny Cash, the Dixie Chicks, Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, and many others.
"I am absolutely thrilled and wholly proud to be working with Rick Rubin on my new solo album," Nettles stated on Friday. "“If you ask any musician who is on their producer 'bucket list’, Rick would be on each and every one."
As for Rubin, he seems just as excited by the collaboration. "It’s thrilling to hear her sing!" he told Rolling Stone, adding that the new record will combine a variety of musical styles but still retain Nettles's signature sound.
According to the publication, Rubin and Nettles have been spending the past few weeks working in Rubin's Malibu studio, and have come up with around 20 songs so far.
Nettles's musical partner in Sugarland, Kristian Bush, is also working on solo material. He released his first solo single, "Love Or Money," in March.
Nettles will be stepping out in Las Vegas Sunday as a presenter at the Billboard Music Awards. The show airs live on ABC from the MGM Grand Resort at 8 p.m. ET.
(TMZ) - An obsessed Taylor Swift fan was arrested near the singer's Rhode Island beach home early this morning after allegedly SWIMMING up to her pad, TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement tells TMZ that a 22-year-old male from the Chicago area was taken into custody for trespassing after he admitted to swimming up to the beach in front of Swift's home around 2 AM.
According to TMZ, here's the back story:
Around 2:20 AM, cops spotted the man getting out of the ocean, around 1 mile from Swift's home.
Cops approached the guy and asked him what he was doing in the water - and the man allegedly told police he had just completed a swim, in which he intended to meet Taylor.
Sources tell TMZ the man told cops he swam all the way to Swift's beach, but saw her security team, and decided to swim back to where he came from (roughly 2 miles round trip in cold water).
The man was hauled to a nearby police station where he was booked for trespassing. He's still in custody.
TMZ spoke to the Westerly Police Dept. who say, "There is a zero tolerance policy for trespassers." The cops say they have already met with Taylor's security to discuss the matter.

Miranda Lambert admits she used to be bothered by tabloid rumors about her, but now she can laugh at them. However, the country star tells NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" they can spark some strange encounters. She recalls how one person treated her following reports that she was expecting.
Rumors of babies and infidelity have been circulating around Lambert and her husband Blake Shelton, who are celebrating their second wedding anniversary Tuesday. Miranda says they won't be doing anything special to mark the occasion, because they're both too busy.
But the singer admits married life has included a few surprises. She explains that since she and Blake had been a couple several years before tying the knot she didn't think formally exchanging vows would make a difference, but that's "so not true." Lambert admits Shelton has a few annoying habits, like using her toothbrush, but she can "overlook that."
She also opens up about one of her own guilty pleasures -- TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo." Miranda says she's been a fan since seeing the family on "Toddlers & Tiaras," and back then predicted they would get their own series.
Lambert is promoting the new Pistol Annies album, which is in stores now. In addition to chatting with Jay, Miranda joined bandmates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley to perform "I Feel A Sin Comin' On," from the trio's new album, "Annie Up."
Eric Church says his mom deserves at least some of the credit for his success. The country star explains that his vocal abilities come from her side of the family.
But Eric adds that his mom's influence goes well beyond singing. He explains that when it comes to his career he owes her "everything." Church adds that he got from his mom "a lot of the qualities" he's needed to get where he is today, "not only as a musician, but as a man."
Happy Mother's Day to your mom, Eric!
