Tom Travis....If you've ever heard Bob Kingsley on American Country Countdown, it's not me! I've been playing radio since 1983 and it's always been country music I've played. I've worked in Little Rock, Fayetteville and Ft. Smith Arkansas, Oklahoma City and a rumored short career in Jamaica (I don't remember much about it). I'm a married father of 5 ranging from 23 years to 6 months (3 girls and 2 boy). I Love God, Country and Country Music! You'll find me parked in front of anything sports and / or the Military Channel.
The soul man collaborated with some of the biggest country stars on the project and when Chesney first heard about it, he urged Richie to consider him as a studio partner.
Richie says, "He calls me at four o'clock in the morning... and I was asleep and he left this voicemail: 'Lionel, I love 'My Love.' I want 'My Love.' I love you, Lionel, I love you, I love you so much... 'My Love' is my favorite song. I wanna sing 'My Love' with you.'
"He calls me later and goes, 'I'm sorry Lionel, I drunk-dialed you.'"
But the early morning call worked as Chesney got his wish - and joined Richie in the studio. And he brought a very special guest.
The soul man recalls, "He comes in the door... and he's like, 'Something amazing happened; my mother has never been to a recording session in my life, but my momma wanted to come down to see you."
Richie spent time with the Chesneys and insists they're "the lovingest (sic) family I've ever met in my entire life".
