Former Lynchburger Connie Britton just picked up a 2013 Golden Globe nomination for her role on the hit series Nashville.

She plays Rayna on the show and is nominated for Best Actress in a Television Drama Series. The Golden Globe's will air in January. CLICK for More on Golden Globe Nominations.

Connie appeared on The View Monday and talked about meeting Reba McEntire on an airplane, the show, and her son Yoby, whom she adopted from Ethiopia.

Connie moved to the Hill City with her family when she was 7 and attended E.C. Glass High School where she was active in the school's drama department. 

Connie co-starred in Spin City and Friday Night Lights before landing the starring role of Rayna on Nashville.
