A lumber yard fire at Central Virginia Pallet and Stake in Bedford this morning is now contained. Streets in the area at Centerville Road and Benchmark Lane were closed to traffic as firefighters worked to put out the blaze.
Firefighters arrived at the lumber business around 5 this Wednesday morning. Embers from the fire did start a small wildfire; the Department of Forestry helped firefighters put out that fire. There were no injuries.
Central Virginia Pallet and Stake makes custom wooden pallets for business and personal use.

5:30 a.m. A lumber yard is on fire this morning in Bedford County. We don't have a lot of details, yet. We do know that local fire departments are battling the fire.
The lumber yard is located on Centerville Road.
