UPDATE: 1:00 p.m.

The Roanoke City Courthouse has reopened. 

The Courthouse was evacuated this morning following a reported bomb threat. Police and the K-9 unit carefully searched each floor of the building and found no bomb(s).

Police are investigating the threat which came to the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Clerk’s Office this morninig. Police closed several streets near the Church Avenue courthouse for roughly 3 hours.

10:45 a.m. The Roanoke City Courthouse has been evacuated this morning because of an apparent bomb threat. The Roanoke Times reports that the threat came in shortly before 10 a.m.

Police are searching the building and have blocked off several streets near the Church Avenue building.
