Country singer Mindy McCready's long-time boyfriend has died, the result of an apparent suicide.
Sheriff reports reveal that authorities found David Wilson, 34, in his house in Heber Springs, Arkansas on Sunday night about 6:15 p.m. with a self-inflicted gunshot wound; he was transported to a local hospital, but declared dead shortly afterwards, according to the Daily Mail.
In a statement Monday, Mindy described Wilson as her "soul mate and caregiver and guiding hand to our sons, Zander and Zayne." Zayne was born just last spring.
The investigation into Wilson's death continues, but no criminal charges have been filed.
Wilson was found shot in the same house where McCready was discovered hiding in a closet with her elder son Zander after a nationwide manhunt, as part of a long custody dispute several years ago.
Zander was placed in foster care at the time.
