The Dallas Cowboys faced the Washington Redskins in a must-win end of season game on Sunday night for both teams! 

And it was two rookies that led the Washington Redskins to victory and the NFC East title with a 28-18 win over the Cowboys.

Rookie quarterback RG,lll played well despite being plagued by a knee injury, and another fan favorite rookie, Alfred Morris, did not disappoint. Both had great games and look forward to the playoffs.

The night started and ended badly for Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo who threw two interceptions in the first quarter. A poor pass in the final minutes of the game was also intercepted and dashed any hopes of a Cowboy win and trip to the playoffs.

The Skins' will face the Seattle Seahawks at home this Sunday in the NFC Playoffs.

The Cowboys season is over; the team has missed the playoffs for a third straight year.

Friday 12/28: In the NFL, the 2012 regular-season finale is here-- the final game is Sunday night. There’s a lot at stake in that game as the Dallas Cowboys meet the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field.

The Redskins could take the NFC East title with a win and end up with home field advantage for their first playoff game next weekend. Should the Skins’ lose, they could play on; their future would be decided by the outcome of games played earlier on Sunday.

However..., the Cowboys must win to advance; a loss will end their 2012 season. Scroll down for others in contention...

The Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and New York Giants are playing for the conference's final wild-card spot.

In the AFC, team records have already determined the division winners. The Texans, Patriots, and Broncos led by Peyton Manning will be in the playoffs. The teams are simply playing for home-field advantage and first-round byes.
