A Campbell County teen was killed and two others hospitalized following a crash Wednesday afternoon on Halsey's Bridge Road.
Police say the SUV the three were traveling in ran off the road and struck a tree. The 17-year-old driver is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, but the passenger in the back seat was seriously injured and sadly, 14-year-old Kathryn Rivera of Evington was killed. Police said Kathryn was a passenger in the front seat.
Kathryn was a student at Rustburg Middle. Her sister was reportedly driving the car, according to WSET. Our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends.
In another accident, a woman in Botetourt County was killed Wednesday morning following on the bridge over Craig Creek near Eagle Rock. Police said that Tori Sanders of Covington was traveling north on Route 220 and lost control of her car, crossed into the southbound lane and was struck by another car.
