Little Big Town have rescheduled two concerts in California to mourn a loss in Kimberly Schlapman's family.
Kimberly’s brother-in-law passed away Thanksgiving week. Thomas Allen Schlapman, 45, lived in Lynchburg [Virginia]. He died Wednesday following an accident in Tennessee that was believed to be caused by a drunk driver. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kimberly, her husband, and the Schlapman family.
Franklin, Tennessee police said the driver that hit Mr. Schapman's motorcycle had crossed into his lane and has been charged with vehicular homicide. Police are waiting for test results to determine whether the driver will also be charged with DUI.
Little Big Town’s post on Facebook acknowledged Kimberly's loss and thanked fans for "their understanding and compassion during this difficult time.” Wednesday’s concert will be rescheduled; Thursday’s concert in Los Angeles has been moved to Feburary 8th.
Earlier this month, Little Big Town picked up two CMA awards: Group of the Year and Single of the Year for "Pontoon".
