So, in training for the Fifth Third Riverbank run we decided to go to Gazelle Sports to find out about what we really need to get training. Being totally honest, the last time some one actually fitted me for a pair of shoes was the week before I started kindergarten. The staff at Gazelle was incredible, checking so many details to make sure I had the right shoes for my gait. Not just making sure the shoes fit correctly, but watching how my feet reacted while walking and bending. Then, making sure we had the proper clothing to train. You can go t-shirt and sweat pants, but the new technology of materials is incredible. Wicking??? Had no clue on this, but apparently these materials pull moisture away from the body, which helps with a more comfortable experience. The folks at Gazelle Sports can help you with all of this...all you have to do is ask.
Now for the training...things are going slow. Tough to get motivated when it's single digit temperatures and knee deep snow, but you gotta push forward. There's still plenty of time to join me. It works better as group. Friends of mine, Christy and Steve, have signed on. Check the links below for info on joining us at the Fifth Third Riverbank Run.
