On American Idol last night, what was up with Nicki Minaj? Ryan Seacrest said she was missing from the judges table for the first song because she was stuck in traffic. However, we're learning that has NOT been the first time she was tardy - according to the Idol contestants - and probably NOT the last.
Season 12 has seemed like the year that the Idol title will go back to a woman. Judging from Wednesday night's performances, an all-female Top Three isn't out of the question.
Here's my Top 5 last night.

2.Kree Harrison, Crying
3.Amber Holcomb, A Moment LIke This
4.Angie Miller, I Surrender
5.Paul Jolley, Amazed
Possibly in danger of going home: Devin, Curtis, Burnell, and Janelle

IDOL GOES COUNTRY
On American Idol last night - Kree Harrison - tackled Roy Orbison's 'Crying' and the judges like it. Hope America did. I loved what Keith Urban had to say, “You could sing the phone book,” he said, “If you made a record tomorrow, I’d go buy that record.”
Rising country singer Paul Jolley performed Lonestar's 'Amazed' on 'American Idol' on Wednesday night (March 13), earning praise from the judges and trying NOT to ever sing it, one of the judges criticisms. BTW: He chose the song because Scotty McCreery performed it on the way to his win in Season 10.
Devin Velez sang Carrie Underwood's 'Temporary Home' turning in a rendition that had the judges questioning his song choice.
Country singer Janelle Arthur performed Montgomery Gentry's 'Gone'. The judges felt it was a daring song choice and may NOT have been for her.
BACK TO COUNTRY
Luke Bryan's "Spring Break... Here to Party" is No. 1 on the U.S. album chart, Billboard.com
Taylor Swift has officially the 'Red' tour with a new image. After doing away with the curls for bangs, she now has a more mature wardrobe, and she's coming across a little more grown up. She has 58 concerts scheduled on the 'Red' tour including:
3/22 – Charlotte, N.C.
9/12 – Greensboro, N.C.
9/13 – Raleigh, N.C.
9/14 – Charlottesville, VA
Lots of "buzz" over the last couple of days about this one. Taylor Swift's publicist says unopened fan mail addressed to the country singer and discovered in a Nashville trash pile ended up there "accidentally."

Life & Style Magazine admits in its latest issue, there was no Blake Shelton affair, despite a previous cover story that led you to believe he did. However, the is sticking to its story that Blake did reportedly get a little too close to a 23-year old old artist named Cady Groves, and of course Miranda was less than happ. The magazine claims Miranda actually called her - on more than one occasion - warning her to stay away from her man. **You DON'T want to mess with Miranda.
Meanwhile, all is good on the homefront. Both Miranda Lambert and hubby Blake Shelton have a 'soft spot' for little critters. Recently, she rescued a little puppy from the middle of the highway. His name "Pistol Andy".
Is Carrie Underwood going to judge 'X-Factor' with Simon Cowell? He says, it's news to him. But, he wouldn't mind having another country winner like Tate Stevens.
Dierks Bentley and Hunter Hayes will join Brad Paisley at the third annual ACM Fan Jam and post-awards show concert - April 7 at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Justin Moore had three good reasons to be in a festive mood Tuesday afternoon in Nashville. He celebrated the No. 1 success of his single "Til My Last Day" and gold certification for his self-titled debut album and his second album, Outlaws Like Me.
Who do you think brings a blender with him on tour? Nope, not Toby. It's Kip Moore. He's incredibly healthy and likes to eat well on the road. Kip says, 'If you’re eating bad food and you’re traveling as much as we are you turn into a grouch." He's the chef of the blender on the tour bus.
Lee Greenwood says when he wrote "God Bless the USA" in the back of a tour bus in 1983, he had no idea how iconic the tune would ultimately become.
Over? Maybe. Sources tell the New York Post, singer Miley Cyrus and actor Liam Hemsworth have ended their engagement and split up.

good news story
Back in January, a 62-year-old man from Wales was on vacation in Australia, when a SHARK swam near some kids at the beach. So he GRABBED the shark and dragged it away. The video was posted online, and he was called a hero . . . but he was supposed to be on SICK LEAVE from the charity where he works, not on vacation. So they fired him. Amazing. He did the right thing.
