good news story
What would your friends do for you? I mean your TRUE friends. How do you define a TRUE friend? On Reddit: There's a letter written by a best friend to an ICU patient with short term memory loss.
The letter asks, "What's wrong with me?" The friend replies, "You have an infection. Your biggest symptom right now is short-term memory loss and confusion. You're able to hold a conversation, but you go through the same series of questions again and again."
The letter goes on to tell her about her kids, does the family know, and why a lady in the room looks so familiar. It's because she's the nurse. Jo's memory only lasted for 5 minutes.
Sadly, Jo, still has leftover memory and hearing loss, and 2 years later, continues to feel the effects of her hospitalization. But, what her friend did for her was incredible. Would you do that for your best friend? We can only hope a friend would do that for us. And no, there's NOT an app for that either...only a kind heart filled with love.
