The top three things your kids learn while texting -- spoiler alert: They aren't good.

1) Paying attention doesn't mean looking, listening or responding. Real paying attention requires eye contact, facial expression and gestures. Not "tuning in" occasionally.

2) They treat everyone the same. Kids text everywhere -- the dinner table, the cafeteria, or the doctor's office. In there world there's no difference between friends, family, and 'authority figures.'

3) Personal safety isn't a problem. Did she just text while crossing the street?

A North Carolina couple preparing to celebrate their 80th wedding anniversary said their advice to young couples is to "be humble and have patience." Robert Gerald, 97, and Virginia Gerald, 95, of Goldsboro, North Carolina, said they married when Robert was 17 and Virginia was 15 and they are now preparing for their 80th wedding anniversary April 12.
