Another successful fundraising cruise thanks to Royal Caribbean International.

As we sailed out of Baltimore under the Key Bridge on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas, Thursday, Sept 6, it was on to Canada and New England.

Our first stop was Portland, Maine...home of American Poet Henry Wadsworth-Longellow.  The city reminded me so much of Roanoke, the way it's laid out.  A gorgeous spot. 

From Portland, a 40 minute ride to the coast to visit Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.  Can you believe we missed eating at the same spot as David Letterman by five minutes at the local eatery?  What was he doing in Maine?

One of my favorite stops was Portland Head Light, America's oldest lighthouse. It was first illuminated on Jan 10, 1791. Talk about your postcard moment.

Day 4 took us to Bar Harbor, Maine...

...and all the beauty from nearby Acadia National Park.

Nothing like looking down at Enchantment of the Seas, with the ship surrounded by the Porcupine Islands.

Day 5 - we visited Saint John, New Brunswick, their City Market and other sights, including....

the Bay of Fundy with its Reversing Falls Rapids.  High and Low tide comes and goes numerous times during the day.

Day 6 - show us the charm of Halifax, Nova Scotia - from the historic Halifax Citadel (above) to it's Victorian-style public gardens.

This 8 night cruise to Canada and New England was filled with memories and so much beauty to our North.

Great fun and a good time, as we helped Presbyterian Homes and Family Services on our fundraising cruise, including my new "best friend" in the Saint John Market.  Yes, he likes to be scratched on his chin.
